Cameras in the field
A word about the usage of photo cameras in the field...

Strictly spoken it is forbidden to bring cameras into the field while shooting. There is a rule in FITA rulebook four that prohibits bringing electronic equipment into a field, cameras and telephones alike. However, judges seem to turn a blind eye to the usage of cameras in the field. And we, and our visitors, appreciate the footage the archers themselves are able to provide to us when coming out of a field. This "blind eye policy" might come to a sudden stop when cameras are being abused to measure distance to unmarked targets. The zoom option of a camera (especially a digital zoom) might be used to zoom in on a target and count the rings on the view screen. We ask the archers to behave more catholic than the pope when using a camera around unmarked targets. Do not take it out of your backpack when you wait while it is your turn to shoot. Maybe even refrain from using it at all around an unknown target to prevent even the slightest suggestion you might be cheating. We would gladly publish (in boldfaced capitals) your name for the world to know on this website if you do get caught for unsportsmanlike behaviour with your camera. We really appreciate the archer's photo material that much and would hate to see this opportunity taken away because of abuse.
