World Championships Hungary 2010
Impression of the day:

So Sunday turned out to be not so sunny at all in terms of the weather. In terms of the mood, that would depend if the archer in question grabbed the gold or bronze in the matches of this day. We had some thunderstorms last night and overcast during the whole day except for maybe a couple of hours during the afternoon. It was a very welcome change after days of very hot weather. The finals ran smoothly and very quick, so we concluded the day at about 5.30 pm as per the schedule. One of the barebow finals even took 11 minutes in total.

It is hard to look back at these finals while we just concluded them. The only thing that springs into mind is the fact that Finland had a very successful day: yesterday the team got gold and today Pasi Ahjokivi managed to win his match against Giuseppe Seimandi and Finland got his second gold. And Anne Lantee came back with a gold medal as well. Pasi was strutting around wearing two gold medals after the medal ceremony. Another memorable moment was in the junior recurve final were Marco Morello just needed to score at the last target to clinch the match and win the gold medal in the Recurve Junior Men division (according to the spotted score, he actually needed a two), but he had a miss so a shoot off followed. In that shoot off Jarrod Nicholson from Australia grabbed the gold. I was able to break an extra smile with the Australians when I showed them my sunblock: Australian Gold, SPF 8 including a koala bear.

It is time to call it a wrap, and as I said it is too early to reflect back in a proper way. I hope you enjoyed the live feed provided by FITA from this tournament and have a proper idea what happened today. Our team back in Holland will upload our last pictures of this tournament. Right now we will be sitting outside and rub shoulders with the archers.
